3rd Annual Mississippi Week for the Animals kicks off on Saturday, November 5, 2011. The week will conclude on Sunday, November 13th. See our Calendar of Events page for details on events taking place across Mississippi during this amazing Mississippi Week for the Animals.

Throughout the week, shelters, rescue groups, and humane organizations across the state will be hosting wonderful animal-related special events. Educators, students, businesses and caring citizens across Mississippi will be joining in as well, each planning activities to celebrate and help animals.
Events will include adoption fairs, spay/neuter awareness events, shelter days, programs in libraries, walks for the animals and therapy dogs visiting hospitals.
Also to be included are a salute to our canine military and police dogs, cat initiatives, animal appreciation events, special educational programs, blessings for the animals, animal keeper talks and full-filled festival days for families to come and enjoy food, music and the amazing animals!
Become Involved! Events are being planned now, and we need animal lovers everywhere in Mississippi to start planning so they can participate! See the page "Become Involved" on this website for lots of great ideas and suggestions on what you can do.
